I had, contrary to custom in Dubai, chosen to sit in the front seat of the taxi, explaining that I could see the scenery better from there. I had hired Nishad as a driver for the day, not as a guide, but he was clearly used to taking visitors to the standard tourist destinations. On previous trips, I had looked for Dubai historical sites, as I tend to do wherever I travel. Al Ayn UNESCO site: A day trip from Dubai

The tombs of al-Ayn are an iconic archaeological site in Oman. Though they are famous, they can be a bit tricky to find. This post will help you plan a visit to the tombs of al-Ayn.
The Jebel Misht as a backdrop, in a landscape of striking and immediate nobility, twenty-one "honeycomb" tombs stand on a rocky ridge, sentinels of eternal rest for more than 3, years 4, to 5, years according to other sources. We are on the site of Al-Ayn, in front of one of the most beautiful natural and historical spectacles in Oman. This site - and the ensemble it comprises with the necropolises, rural dwellings and towers of Bat and Al-Khutm - was the first in the country to be accepted in the UNESCO World Heritage of Universal Value register, and this is no coincidence. To reach it, one leaves the main road linking Bahla to Ibri and drives towards Amla for 21 km.
